Visit to the Studio of artist José Maria Córdoba

Jose Maria Cordoba, a multifaceted artist, born in Córdoba in 1950. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Seville, where he obtained Diploma as a Drawing Teacher, and where he later specialized in Etchings and engravings. He since travelled to Italy where he studied the Italian renaissance Masters. Worked and lived for some time in Paris and in 1981 he moved to Mijas, where he since has worked at his studio in Valtocado. He has taught drawing and painting classes at the Popular University of Mijas for a number years and later he started up the Municipal Etching Workshop in Fuengirola of which he is the director today. With more than 200 national and international exhibitions; Individual and collective, his work is included in numerous private and public collections. As an artist of urban spaces, you can see his work in Malaga – a sculpture of Hans Christian Andersen, in Fuengirola – The Rosa de Ios Vientos and The Rainbow Forest to name a few. Among his numerous awards are the First Prize of Murals for the San Pablo Airport (Seville) and the First Prize of Engraving Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Athenaeum and University of Malaga 1999.
