Our 2021/2022 Programme

We’re delighted to introduce you to our new Programme of art lectures:

We’ve a culture packed calendar.  Big names in the Art World are represented by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci and, more recently, by the colourful and talented Grayson Perry.  Spanish history and culture figure in several of our lectures: the quintessential Spanish romantic figure of Don Quixote; Seville, the colonial capital of 16th century Spain; and an insight into life in Barcelona in the 1900’s.  We are not neglecting the rest of the world’s history either as we delve into the Mycenaean Age, through Homer’s writings, and explore the myths and reality of the Magi.   Have you ever wondered how the ‘artists’ of the cinema achieve their masterpieces? We will have an insight into one such artist, David Lean, this coming February.

Although last season we had to transmit all our lectures via Zoom, this season we hope to return to our usual venues, except for our first lecture, in October, which will be transmitted live via Zoom. Any changes will be updated on this website.
